Talk on preservation of 20th Century Architect’s Houses

Natascha Drabbe sheds light on a few recent examples of houses of illustrious 20th Century architects that are in transition into house museums. It is our social responsibility to give new meaning to this heritage. We all know the houses of Eames and Rietveld, but how do city authorities or relatives deal now with the heritage of Eileen Gray or Jean Prouvé? Drabbe focuses on the Van Schijndel House in Utrecht (1992) by Mart van Schijndel. With the Mart van Schijndel Foundation, she is exploring ways to preserve the house in its original state including interior design, customized furniture and his design icon, the Delta Vase.
